Janel Robinson is a Co-Founder of the Black Women Empower Collective and serves as the Activities and Program Coordinator. Janel is from St. Petersburg, FL and is representing BWEC Tallahassee. She works as an Abuse Counselor and is a Masters of Social Work Candidate. Janel empowers Black women through self-love and self-acceptance. Janel believes that Black women should never have to apologize for being themselves and that they should never have to limit themselves within the confinements of societal expectations. Janel is a sister of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, Inc. She has served as an executive cabinet member of the Florida State University Chapter of NAACP and was an organizer for No Voice, No Vote. Her long-term goals consist of taking over the world. Her short-term goals are to complete her Master’s and start her own non-profit for juvenile justice and intervention, and eventually, begin lobbying for legislative change to ensure protection for vulnerable and minority populations.
