La-Toya Scott is a writer, spoken word artist, and teacher. She has a B.A from Florida State University in English Literature, and a minor in business. Scott is currently working on her Masters in English Literature and is striving to earn a Doctoral degree in English Literature with a focus in Black Feminist theory. If she's not on her coach curled up under a blanket sipping tea, and reading she is most certainly writing about, and researching ways to dismantle systems of oppressions. As the President, and Founder of Shades of Melanin Inc. she strives to inspire other women of color to love and value themselves. She hopes to continue forwarding messages that help women of color believe they are magic, while realizing that their issues and struggles are worth registering as real and important.
